In the summer semester 2012, 55 students from three accredited educational institutions, Instituto Superior De Ensenanzas Artisticas (ES), ArtEZ Institute of the Arts (NL) and the University for Music and Dance Cologne (DE) will participate in a unique inter disciplinary project. They will have the opportunity to work with choreographers Georg Reischl and Ivan Perez creating two new works.
As part of the creative process two composers – Benjamin Scheuer and Christiaan Richter - will closely collaborate with the choreographers. Together they will develop new compositions which will be performed during a tour by the Dutch orchestre de Ereprijs.
Results will be shown to the public June 5, 2012 an will tour throughout Spain, Germany and the Netherlands.
Besides artistic practice and interdisciplinary cooperation between music and dance, the exchange of artistic approaches amongst artists, students and teachers remains a substantial aspect.
In order to contextualize the creation process, the project will be framed by a series of seminars and a final conference in Cologne
Besides research of the various choreographic and compositional methods and discussions about the relation between body and society, intercultural processes and gender relations will be examined.
